Students used the pantograph to make some scale drawings. A verbal scale of one block equals a foot was used to make a map of the room. Text Box: Did you Know? Mr. Thomas is the Cross Country coach at Three Rivers. This year’s team is the biggest ever with over 40 on the roster! Text Box: Thank goodness for the earth’s magnetic field! Without it navigation would be difficult. The compass and magnetic north gives us a reference point to use angular measurement. Students made a compass relying on surface tension . We will use the compass to make some maps and calculate distances.
