PEMBROKE ACADEMY – CO-CURRICULAR JOB DESCRIPTION

 

DEFINITION:

A co-curricular activity compliments, reinforces, and extends the academic curriculum and offers students opportunities and outlets not available within their regular course of studies.

ACTIVITY:

Varsity Sports

PRE-REQUISITE:

  1. To have the ability to work with and successfully channel the efforts of students.
  2. To have management, organizational, and practical skills sufficient to administer the activity properly.
  3. To have and be willing to expend an amount of time (aside from time contracted for regular school duties) sufficient to carry out a viable and successful program. N.H.I.A.A. beginning and ending dates are provided for each activity.

DUTIES:

  1. To work through with the administration in bringing the activity to successful closure, i.e. collection of equipment and supplies and awards recognition.
  2. To assist the administration with budgetary requests.
  3. To be responsible for student conduct and compliance with school regulations during any activity related to this co-curricular assignment.
  4. To be responsible for implementation of the school athletic philosophy as written.
  5. To inform all athletes under your supervision of the N.H.I.A.A. eligibility rules.
  6. To promote good school, A.R.E.A., and community relations.
  7. To carefully supervise all bus and locker room activities and be the last one to leave the building at all times. Check all lights and secure all doors in your area of responsibility.
  8. To act as a positive role model for athletes and to encourage leadership, responsibility, and school pride and spirit.
  9. To work toward increased student interest and participation in the activity.
  10. To stress individual and team skills to the greatest possible extent.
  11. To provide adequate conditioning for maximum performance.
  12. To treat and/or refer all injuries with caution. Document all injuries and refer to nurse.
  13. To carry out other duties as assigned by the administration.
