INTRODUCTION AND GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
One of the primary
objectives of Pembroke Academy is to assist young people in fulfilling
their potential as students and as citizens of the school and community.
The Program of Studies is designed to enable students to achieve a
substantial education if they:
- Carefully plan
their program of studies with parents, teachers, and counselors.
- Are willing to
demonstrate the ability , the maturity, and the motivation to perform
the required work.
High school offers
students an opportunity to discover their interests and aptitudes. While
students may select courses from different areas of the curriculum, they
are expected to include in their program certain subjects which are
considered basic to a well-rounded high school education.
The minimum
requirement for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors is 40 credits. Seniors
must take a minimum of 30 credits, but are encouraged to take more than
the minimum credits required.
The 2010-2011
Program of Studies is now available online, in PDF format. Click
on the
link below to download; Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view
the
file. Acrobat Reader is a free program available at
Adobe.
We also have separate catalogs for each individual class. These
catalogs are what students receive paper copies of, along with their
color-coded registration sheets. The catalogs include a worksheet
for each student to complete that chart progress in fulfilling graduation
requirements. You may download the catalog for the appropriate class
