Academic Expectations

1.  At graduation, all students will be able to function as knowledgeable individuals
Exemplary Exhibits very strong work that is precise, and demonstrates depth, attention to detail and a consistent effort to achieve excellence
Proficient Defends a viewpoint using supportive material and distinguishes between useful and useless information
Not Yet Proficient Exhibits naive performance that has consistent flaws in precision, and/or demonstrates a lack of depth, detail, or consistency to achieve excellence

 

2.  At graduation, all students will be able to utilize skills as critical thinkers and problem solvers
 
Exemplary Makes well substantiated judgments presenting convincing evidence
Proficient Chooses and implements an appropriate solution for the situation
Not Yet Proficient Substantiates some judgment with limited evidence

 

3.  At graduation, all students will be able to demonstrate academic accountability
 
Exemplary Produces strong work that is very clear, cohesive, organized, detailed, and consistent with academic standards
Proficient Develops personal resources for creative effort
Not Yet Proficient Produces naive work that is sketchy and/or unclear, incoherent, disorganized, or inconsistent with academic standards

 

4.  At graduation, all students will be able to work independently and collaboratively
 
Exemplary Actively participates to deepen the learning process for self and colleagues
Proficient Appropriately uses own skill to access resources appropriate to the task
Not Yet Proficient Participates in a non-disruptive, yet non-supportive way in respect to the learning for self and colleagues
