Guidance

The school counselor, works with parents and staff to ensure the students at Pembroke Hill and Village Schools have a successful year.  During this age, children are not only developing academically, but socially and emotionally as well.  They are learning communication skills, friendship and problem solving skills, and character values.  The school counseling program offers education, prevention and intervention to support the students in learning these valuable life skills. 

The services provided are classroom guidance, meet with students individually and/or in small groups, aid teachers and parents in supporting students, help identifying student needs, and work with outside agencies that are involved with the students. The school counselor, does not to provide long term therapy or mental health counseling, but assists in recommending appropriate community services.
