Keeping your child safe is one of the most important tasks that you will perform as a parent. There is specific information that a child must be taught to help insure his/her safety.

Teach your child ...:

* his/her full name, address, and phone number.

* how to use the telephone.

* not to talk to strangers.

* how to answer the phone when he/she is home alone.

* not to go into someone's house without permission.

* to walk with friends and avoid dark places.

* not to play in deserted areas.

* your full name, work address, and work phone number.

* to talk about his/her concerns.

* to lock doors and to never answer the door when he/she is home alone.

All of these items are important. Spend time educating your child about his/her safety.
