The DCS PTO has many volunteer opportunities coming in 2012-2013. In an effort to better organize DCS volunteers and move away from paper sign up sheets, the recording of volunteers and volunteered time will occur online.

To volunteer to be a Room Parent go to: www.mysignup.com/roomparent

For those who cannot attend meetings, minutes are emailed to everyone on the school contact list within a few days. You can also "like" us on Facebook (Deerfield Community School PTO) or find the PTO tab on the school website. Future articles will include ideas on ways to be involved and members to contact for various projects. We are looking forward to an exciting 2012-2013 school year!

As always, new ideas and faces are always welcome! If you can’t make it to a PTO meeting, but would like to share some feedback or an opinion, email dcspto@live.com or call Kendra Currier at 463-3736.

    Hannaford Helps Schools
Again this fall, shoppers will receive “school dollar” certificates at the register when they buy participating products at Hannaford stores. Local schools turn in the school dollars and Hannaford then issues a check in the amount of school dollars collected over three months.

There is no limit to the school dollars you can earn for your school. Purchase 4 participating products, earn 3 school dollars

    • Purchase 8 participating products, earn 6 school dollars

    • Purchase 12 participating products, earn 9 school dollars, etc. When checking out a coupon is handed to you along with your cash register receipt if you have purchased participating products. The coupon says “Hannaford Helps Schools” with a value of $3, $6, $9, $12. In addition, each Hannaford store will award a $1,000 education grant to the school that raises the most dollars. Because of your efforts, last year we were again awarded an additional $1,000 as the top-rated school in our area. This money goes directly back into the school through PTO programs. Since the inception of this program you have helped to raise approximately $11,000 for our school.

If you do not have children in the school system, please mail your receipts to DCS/PTO, 66 North Road, Deerfield NH 03037. This year’s program runs from September 9 to December 1 2012. When shopping at the Northwood store, you may put your receipts into the bin marked with our school name instead of mailing them to the school.

Please go to www.Hannaford.com/hhs for a list of participating products. If you have any questions please contact Jill Murphy at StoneSoup@metrocast.net. For these items or any other PTO information, please call Kendra at 463-3736 or email Lynne at dcspto@live.com.
